Welcome to the Call of Duty League™

The Call of Duty League returns in 2025 building off the epic success of 2024 to once again bring you the absolute pinnacle of Call of Duty Esports entertainment. This year the schedule will include 4 Major Tournaments as all 12 teams within the Call of Duty League battle for the top spot, ultimate glory, and massive prizing.

For the 2025 season teams will compete in Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 on PC with any League approved controller, giving players an incredible level of input customization. Stay tuned for more information coming soon on dates and where to buy tickets.

All 12 teams in the Call of Duty League will compete in four double-elimination Majors across the regular season in a hybrid LAN/online format. Each Major will be on LAN with a live audience in attendance.

Teams’ seeding into the Majors will be determined by head-to-head group play matches held online over the course of four or five qualifying weeks leading up to each Major. These qualifying weeks are crucial because at the end only the top eight seeds will be placed in the winners bracket during round 1, while seeds 9-12 will qualify for elimination bracket round 1 at the Major Tournament.

As before, teams will earn CDL Points for each match win throughout the season—with additional points distributed to teams based on their performance at Online Minor and LAN Major Tournaments. CDL Points totals will be critical, with teams fighting for their spot in the 2025 season standings and a shot at becoming one of eight teams to qualify for the 2025 Call of Duty League Playoffs.

Games & Modes

When two teams compete in a professional match of Call of Duty, they play three separate modes on different maps. Winning a game earns a team one match point. Each match is a best-of-five series.

Hardpoint

First team to 250 points wins, or the team with the most points when the game timer reaches zero

Teams rush to secure a section on the map referred to as a “Hardpoint” while combating the opposing team. When at least one member of a team is standing on a Hardpoint, that team earns one point for every second they own the area. If an enemy enters the zone the area becomes “Contested” and no points are awarded until the remaining enemies are removed from the objective.

Every sixty seconds, the location of the Hardpoint moves to a new area of the map. Teams can strategize around the clock, setting up or “rotating” to the next Hardpoint in preparation for the zone change. The Hardpoint locations differ on each map; however, the rotation order is static and not random, giving a team the ability to practice their rotation strategies in the search for glory.

Search & Destroy

Detonate or defuse the bomb in one of two locations; or eliminate the opposing enemies.

Search & Destroy (or S&D, SnD) is the only mode in the Call of Duty League that does not feature respawning – the ability to get back in action after being eliminated. In this mode, an attacking team must bring a bomb to one of two points marked on the map, plant the device, and protect it from being defused.

If the device is planted, the defending team will have a short window of time to defuse the device before it explodes. If the device is defused, they are victorious.

Alternatively, either team may win by eliminating all opposing team members. If attackers arm the device before they fall, the defenders will still need to defuse the device before the timer runs out.

The first team to six wins the match.

Control

Capture or defend two marked zones on the map within a time limit or eliminate all respawns of the opposing team.

Control brings together some elements of S&D and Hardpoint in a way that feels completely unique. Like S&D, teams alter between attacking and defending two pre-determined objective areas on the map. Like Hardpoint, these objectives are hills where attackers must stand in to capture them.

Each team gets a collective 30 lives per round. A team takes a round by capturing both hills on offense, run out the clock on defense or if either team eliminates all lives of the opposing team within the time limit. Attackers can add one minute to the overall game clock by capturing a Control point.

Teams can also win by eliminating all 30 lives of the opposing team.

Control is played across three rounds.

CALL OF DUTY CHALLENGERS

Additional information about the 2025 Call of Duty Challengers program, including events, eligibility, and prizing, will be released at a later date.
